Our Story

01

Our Journey

Welcome to Village Pot, where we bring authentic Nigerian and West African cuisine to Winnipeg, Manitoba. Located at 180 King Street in the heart of downtown Winnipeg, our kitchen was built around a simple idea: cook the way families cook back home. Every pot of stew is simmered with traditional spices and time-honoured methods, so that the African diaspora across Winnipeg and anyone curious about Nigerian flavours can find a real taste of Nigeria close to Portage & Main.

02

Our Menu

Our menu features the Nigerian classics our guests come back for: smoky jollof rice with stewed goat, chicken or beef, white rice stew with one piece of meat in rich West African spices, Nigerian fried rice, comforting yam porridge, and hearty egusi soup with swallow. White rice with chicken melody makes it easy to build a full meal, whether you are new to West African food or craving the dishes you grew up with.
